The Government of Sindh, on Thursday, has announced winter vacations for all public and private schools and colleges across the province from 20 December 2021 till 1 January 2022.
The decision was taken during a meeting of the education department’s steering committee chaired by Sindh Education Minister, Syed Sardar Ali Shah. The winter vacations in Sindh have been announced in view of the cold and dry weather in the province.
In an official statement, the provincial Ministry of Education said schools in the winter zone will remain closed until the end of February, while schools in the summer zone will be open from 1 January 2022.
According to the Met Office, the temperatures in Karachi and other parts of the province are expected to drop to as low as 10 degrees Celsius, there, the Sindh Education Department has announced winter vacations from 20 December 2021 till 1 January 2022.
Last week, the Balochistan government announced the closure of all public and private schools for the winter break from December 15, 2021.
